Does anyone have a 13" Douglas chest protector with gap protection that would be interested in trading for a 15" model? I have the newer gray one and a couple of  Douglas West Vest that have been retrofitted with gap protection and buckles.

Why don't you just remove/trim the lower plastic panel and cut/sew the pad shorter? That way you could make it EXACTLY how long you want it to be. And save the hassle/cost of shipping for a trade. This adjustment would be possible with any of the 3 CPs in your photo.

It’s even easier than that. Call Jeff Cooke at Douglas and have him ship you a 13” pad. Problem solved.

I would need to trim/cut the lower panel in half along with the pad. That's an option, but then I will need to find a seamstress to tackle sewing the pad.

I actually emailed Jeff today and asked him what my options were. Purchasing a new main pad was not an option that he responded with. I'll get back in touch with him to see if that's an option.

They probably don't support modifying one of their protectors the same way they will only refurbish their own or add on their approved hardware.  What options did he give you?

I dont see why you can't remove the bottom plate, cut the pad, and have someone knowledgable sew a border on it and its now.a 13 inch protector.  I dont know the technical sewing terminology lol.
