Base Path One Yes, One No

These things tend to occur one after another.

Here's one that led to an ejection and one that they stayed off of...two good plays for discussion

The one NOT ruled out of the base path is correct, IMO. He didn't deviate more than 3 feet at the time of the tag attempt.

The one that WAS ruled out of the base path is a really tough one. The fielder's momentum made it look worse than it was, but perhaps the runner did deviate more than 3 feet. It's super close and I wouldn't fault any umpire for calling it, or not calling it.

Agree and in our games where we have two umpires...and in some cases, just one umpire, it's going to be tough to get a look on these.
