So, ... on the plate last Thursday, conference varsity game with 2 decent schools.

Home team batting.  Foul ball popped up to the right of home, and up the line about 10-12 feet or so.  Catcher gathers himself underneath it, the wind takes it, and it deflects off of this glove and drops it.  The ball was clearly touched in foul territory, no question.  I call a relaxed foul ball, and we start setting up for the next pitch.    Well, I see my partner talking to the head coach on third base, and then he points to me and the coach walks towards me and says ...    "Jeff, ...he touched the foul ball, but then it rolled fair, ..isn't that a fair ball?"   I had to concentrate not to laugh/smile.  I explained, and he was good.

Varsity baseball.  Fair vs Foul.  🙄
