When does Arbiter reset work radius and when can users set their radius?

This might be a question best answered by my assignor but, I thought I'd ask it here first...

I got an assignment for a game 53 miles from my home zip code. It was an early game this season and when I checked my radius, I saw that it had been reset to 9,999. I accepted the slot and worked the game. I readjusted my radius but, I want to get out in front of this next season.

When does Arbiter reset and when can I adjust the radius proactively to avoid getting a slot with a long commute?

I recall something like this happening once before, after Arbiter did some in-house maintenance. I may be wrong, but I don't think Arbiter routinely resets travel limits.

As long as assigners give officials the option to set travel limits, you should be able to do so at any time. Although you said that you've already reset your travel limit, go into "BLOCKS" and see if your travel reset still appears.

The mystery deepens, the plot thickens. This morning, I noticed that the "travel limit" option no longer appears on my soccer group's page, although it does appears on my two basketball groups. After emailing my assigner, who had no explanation, I emailed Arbiter and am waiting for its reply. Here is what I wrote:

I recently noticed that Artbiter does not include the "travel limits" option under "BLOCKS" on my soccer page (109546), although that option still appears on my two basketball groups (109574 and 109549). The soccer group had this block option previously, but perhaps Arbiter has inadvertently deleted it during one of your maintenances or upgrades. I emailed my soccer assigner, who investigated, then sent me this reply: "I checked into your discovery and found the travel limits option to have been removed from officials.  I can set travel limits as the assignor.  As a result, I did some more investigation and cannot find any setting to change to grant that permission.  This may be an 'enhancement' by the folks at Arbiter."

Can you provide an explanation for the disappearance of the travel limit option for this one group? More importantly, can you provide a remedy so my assigner can re-institute it?

Whoever manages the group determines which features to use/show. One group I belong to does not allow any blocks, the other allows blocks of teams/partners/miles.

"Assigner control" was the point of my first post, but I subsequently learned (the point of my second post) that the deletion did not come from the assigner, but apparently from Arbiter itself, perhaps inadvertently. I quote my assigner about her investigation--she did not delete the travel limit function, which we previously had, and there is no way for her to reinstate it.
