Need to know who said what and who wrote down what.

Didn’t seem that complicated ... wonder what happened.

This may or may not be related, but as PU I try to be specific on a change reported to me and then watch what I say very carefully when I report changes to the opposing team.  Especially with courtesy runners.  

“Hey Blue!  24 is pinch running for 12.”  Me: “24 substituting in for 12.”

”Hey Blue!  19 is going to run for the pitcher.”  Me: “Courtesy or substitute?  OK, 19 courtesy runner for the pitcher.”

If you insist on being specific use names not numbers and help out with the added in the #slot. But most of us including me get away with the number and most of the time the slot. But I didn’t see Angel pencil anything on his card during the initial conversation about the change on MLBTV. And is Hickox the CC or Angel?  Hickox is not a Harvey.

I don’t think I have ever had a coach report a substitute using the players’ names ... huh.  Never thought about it before.

It’s rare at lower levels but de rigour at higher levels. As can be seen, most of the time, a point at the card to confirm who’s going where.
