Another casualty in trade war

Well after many orders from the States and no problems with orders going through customs, my order from UA just got dinged for $34 by Canada Customs. Pain is that the order is with Majestic shirts you cannot get anywhere else. Another casualty of Trump’s trade war. 

Interested to see if other Canadian brotheren encounter similar changes too.

I'm curious if this will also go in reverse? Say... in regards to shipping of Umplife gear south of the boder?

I'm not actually convinced that this is because of the new tariffs. More likely is that they used a different shipping company who charged brokerage and duties/taxes.

In my experience, shipping cross-border with USPS gives you the least hassle, while DHL, UPS, FedEx, and the like will all charge $10-$20 in brokerage fees on top of the HST and whatever duties are assessed.

I haven't noticed any changes in bringing stuff across the border recently, though I am going down to Buffalo to pick up some stuff at a warehouse next month, so that'll be the real litmus test for me.
