I think the commentator had it right that the manager came out to fire up his team. I mean, having to wear those jerseys was certainly demoralizing.

Maybe the batboy, since he went to retrieve the manager's hat which, to the school-girl joy of the announcer, landed "two feet away from the umpire."    

I wouldn't have touched that plate.

Hey now hey now, the Mud Hens is a wonderful name for a baseball team. So much better than boring names like Rangers and Astros.

You could see that coming - baited him to the mound with the long conference, then they took the same path from the mound. That usually doesn't end well for a coach.

It's not the name... it's those Sgt. Pepper jerseys they were wearing.
