Chinese team and Easton Bats

Heard this at the Canadian Open Fastpitch Tourney in Surrey, BC in 2012.

There is an international division, and Team China shows up.

At the pre-tourney meeting the UIC inspects all the bats.  He then confiscates Team China's entire inventory of bats - ruling them all Easton knock-offs.

They ask why - he says "All your bats say 'Made in USA'....Easton bats are made in China."

 

In the end the tourney hosts ended up loaning them bats - I would have liked to see them scramble to a sporting goods store and then share one bat for the week.

When I invent a time machine I will go back, register in 2012, and post the story minutes after it occurs.

If you invent a time machine before I do I would gladly ask if I can borrow it - I will however be willing to pay a nominal rental fee.
