Understanding Wife

Last week baseball and softball practice began for the kids, Monday through Friday. Friday afternoon, I told my wife that I would catch a couple of innings of the local high school game, take and pickup my granddaughter from practice, then catch a local college game. Saturday I had a softball umpires clinic and Sunday a baseball umpires clinic and gave her a list of my umpiring schedule and kid's games.

" FINE!! FINE!! Your next XXXXXXX dinner will be in November." Gotta love a woman who understands.

My wife will often complain during the season about how much I am away umpiring....yet she never complains at the end of the season when we total up the fees....

I put aside all my fees until the last game of my season....usually mid august...(fall ball is part of the next year).....we sit down, count it up and then decide what we will spend it on....

My wife used to complain until we started taking some of the fees and spend a quiet week at the beach in September. Of course once I get back its fall ball and football.

The first few weeks of the season my wife will be complaining about me not being home not able to make time to do certain things...

The first few weeks after the season ends she asks, "Are you sure you don't have a baseball game to be at somewhere?"

I cant win for losing...
