so when you going to make it easy for the human eye to see on the charts and just circle the pitches in the graphs that do not meet expectations. courtesy of pitch fx. inquiring minds and eyes want to know, since you got all the statistical .897 strike stuff and things like the kulpa rule, etc. that would account for the diameter/radius of the ball and height fluctuations and the pitch fx acknowledged 1 inch or is that 1/2 inch now deviation per some other article thrown out there lately (regardless of what the bold square says).

looks like only 2 reds missed all marked square lines, bold, sliced, dotted/etc.

looks like 5 greens hit the bold line and others fell within the sliced/dotted

Which 3 reds on the 2 plots counted as missed and which 4 greens counted as missed, factoring in all rules used for determination?

Besides, all the pitches that the batter offered at in some form do not have to be on these charts making circling much easier.

The plots only have called strikes (red) and balls (green). They are Brooks' charts, so I wouldn't be able to edit them.

sure you can, save the jpeg, open in MS paint, I used the oval feature to highlight one pitch

You might be surprised then by which pitches would be circled. For instance, the green triangle in the bottom right corner of the drawn strike zone box was correctly ruled a ball since the batter for which that was balled was a taller batter with a correspondingly higher strike zone than is depicted.

but that is what inquiring minds want to know, and stkjock (thank you by the way) made the circle happen and you made the insight happen, so now we just need the circle and the insight combined, since it was a mere 7 pitches total.

If that pitch you mentioned was circled, we might could even assume it was not an in/out but an up/down height situation, since you would not have circled that pitch as being incorrect.

now if we can get gil to start circling the misses or even just circle the ones that are not true to what we are seeing on the graph.

That would be even fewer circles to make. Like that good example yesterday of a high/low situation.

We know the high/low is a case to case basis because the pitch f/x square is set to the "average MLB player", but each batter has their own unique

high/low zone which is making the umpire do a total reset on the high/low for every batter.

However, the inside/outside is a constant.

Gil, could we get a blank square that would be used by pitch fx as the batter steps into the batters box and give us some shading for the corner's of the plate (x axis?????) using the famous Kulpa rule so we can see that extra 1.5 inches (or whatever the radius of the ball is for practical purposes) that the pitcher gets by definition of the rule. Let us visually see the Kulpa rule in action on the pitch fx square. Let us look upon it with our own eyes.

I will stick with just/only 'circling the misses' on the graph (balls and strikes) (7 total by cedarstrom and 12 total by Winters) that are counted as such in your statistics. You just proved you can circle the pitches.

And if you 'did not' circle the green triangle pitch from your comment right after stkjock circled as an example, we would know what happened on that pitch, was exactly what you described below stkjock's post in understandably nice detail.
