Saw an F4 Steve Sax one over to first base with the bases empty, F3 made a great play diving towards the plate and swiping the tag on the BR.  The BU had no chance -- not enough time to get a read step or even a good lean.  BU called time right after the play, got the PU, said a few words, and turned and called the BR out.  Nobody said a word, other than, "that's good work all around."

Ha-ha, I am clearly younger than you as I prefer the phrase, "he 'Chuck Knoblauched' one over to first base."

I flipped a coin in my head.  Seriously.  (I'm 46.)

How about Mackey Sassered it back to the pitcher?

Having had my own "get help" situation this year, I understand this 100%. We don't get help to appease coaches, we do it to get plays right. IF you got the play right, own it. Going to your partner on a call that you need to own sets a terrible precedent, and its why coaches think they have a right to getting help anytime they feel like it.
