3rd Base Coach, 1st Base Coach Interference

I have always wondered what would the call be if the 3rd base coach or the 1st base coach interfered with the play at hand. 

Here are a couple of things that come to mind when it comes to interference with those 2 spots:

 

• 3rd base coach steps out of the box they are in and gets hit by a pass ball thrown to 3rd, the same would apply to the 1st base coach being hit by a thrown ball to 1st
• 3rd base coach accidently gets hit by the 3rd basemen while he is trying to make a play on a pass ball, same for 1st base coach
• 3rd base coach gets in the way of a ball being thrown home by the 3rd basemen from a pass ball
• What if the 1st base coach or 3rd base coach touches a player of the opposite team to get them out of the runners way since there is no play happening at the base? 
• What is the deal with the box they stand in? Is there any rules in regards to those boxes? If they get hit in those boxes does anything happen to the plays at hand? 
• What do I call when the previous things happen? 

I have been wondering these things with the 3rd base coaches for years and have never asked. If you can help me fully understand what the rules say on these things that would be great!

Base coaches are required by rule to vacate any space needed by the defense. They are not expected to disappear, but they must try to get out of the way.

 

If a wild throw hits them anyway, the ball is live and it is not INT.

What if the base coach intentionally puts his hands up to stop a ball, like puts his hands out to "try and catch it"

If that's what you judge, then you have interference by person authorized to be on the field.

Trying to catch = INT.

 

Warding off = nothing.

Anyone see the Giants/Dodgers game tonight? In the bottom of the 9th there was a play where runner overruns 3rd and runs into base coach, then appears to push off to return to the bag. Mattingly goes out to argue, but no ruling. Here's the video:

The contact seemed significantly more flagrant than something like this instance:

However, there was no immediate play at third to accompany.

 

Anyone want to offer thoughts on this? My reaction after looking up the rule and watching the video again was interference, but I'm no expert on this rule.

I saw this too. I thought interference. On the replay you can see the U3 looking to the outfield. He wasn't even "glancing" at the runner as he came to third.
