Another Interference Question

Batter pops one up in foul territory, about 30 feet from the plate on the 1B side.  BR runs.  F1, F2, F3 all converge to go for the ball.  F1 and BR collide on the base path.  Ball drops uncaught.

 

In this case where you have three players all going for the ball, would you call interference on the BR since there is no clear way to discern which player is actually fielding the ball, or does that not matter?  What would you call in a case where you think F1 purposefully made contact with BR?

In this situation you'd still call the obstruction when it happens, it just wouldn't have an impact on the result of the play if the ball winds up being foul.

Then when the OHC comes over to argue about why the batter isn't awarded first, you explain that any base awards are to nullify the obstruction, and since it was a foul the nullification results in the batter continuing his at bat.

I like that clip.  It seemed to me like a difference between what happened there and what happened in my game was in my game, nobody had yet actually fielded the ball -- they were all still converging, making it difficult to ascertain who would receive protection.
