Why do you want a K1?

It is a good protector for the first season or so but then it breaks down pretty quickly after that.

I used one for a few years and got tired of feeling the hits. I upgraded to a platinum and I now reccomend a hardshell protector over a softshell any day

and the pricepoint difference is not that much

I wanted to try it just to try it. I know that sounds odd, but I saw a D1 tournament the other weekend and wa lucky enough to go to the locker room and noticed that 3 of the six guys had them so I wanted to give them a try. I do have two hard shells I have a champion p220 and a gold.

And Im hearing (more like reading) a lot about this new all star and Im very interested in trying it. I just don't know because the two that I seen on ump attire look bulky.

I've got a Munchkin Ball (U10) game tonight. I'm going to use it in place of my WV. It covers a bit more of my (ahem) "Abs", and is a bit lighter.

You're right, though: it has broken down over the years (15 or so). I'd never use for more than an U11 game.

1-pack.

Anyway, I'm leaning towards letting go of my 2009 K1. It was a lot better than the soft ribbed CP I used for ten years, but I got a Douglas this year that I love.

But I may want to try Frankensteining the mesh vest and velcro straps from the K1 onto the Douglas...

Where are you located. I have one that I would sell. But why do you want one? You have a gold!

I will tell you they are comfy. I have 2 of them and I where mine when I do V games with no probs.

By the way I also have a gold and a Douglas. I like them too!

If I hadn't found the Douglas, then I would still be using my K1. I do like the K1, because its breaks allow it to wrap around my torso better than the Douglas, but I have reservations about it being a soft-shell.

I'm happy with my Douglas simply because it's hard shell and low-profile, the latter not a characteristic of the WV Gold, I suppose.
