Suspended game

I had an issue come up with the home plate during a softball game.  The top of the home plate came loose and off of the permanent base during a play/slide at the plate.  We had no way of securing the plate back to the base and no way of replacing the home plate.  The game was in the top half of the 5th inning, visiting team started the inning ahead by one run and scored one run during the top half of the inning when the issue came up.

For the record, 4 innings is considered a regulation game.

What category would this fall under for a suspended/regulation/called game?
Should it be considered complete or should it be resumed from that point?

I had this happen once, oddly it came a game after I worked with a guy who moves the strike zone based on where the batter stands in the box, so I was thinking THE PLATE DOES NOT MOVE, well the next game it did
