This season my league is actually threatening to enforce the dress code, yay.

BUT.

Somehow I'm still on their roster and last week they sent me a league jacket that is required to be worn by umpires during rainy or cold weather games. I wouldn't have a problem with this, but my time on this site has forced me to be in pain when I think about it. It's dark green, for one, not blue or black. It doesn't fit right to be worn at the plate, and it has the association acronym on the right side of the chest, across the most redundant pocket I've ever seen. The absolute worst part is that it says "umpire" in all caps across the shoulders in black. About four inch letters.

Not only will they be hypocrites of their own code, but they get to look hideous while doing so!

Way to crush your own guidelines, small town LL!!

What dress code is correct. Supposedly, gray or navy pants, black, maroon, or green polos, black cap.

And it's Little League, so I wondering why I'm even surprised at this. :shakehead:

You know that if everyone on U-E told you that all umpires wear green jackets with their association emblem on the right side of the chest, with "umpire" in all caps across the shoulders ...and your LL said that you had to wear black jacket without emblems and without UMPIRE in big bold letters, wouldn't you still be outraged.

It's a uniform...all your collegues will be wearing them. It's just a uni-form. I'm looking forward to when the cricket umpire uniform comes to America.

I wouldn't outraged.

Because at least then we wouldn't actually look like the bumbling group of idiot teenagers that we are.

What shade of green is it? I have been told that dark green brings out the color in my eyes!!!

Abraham Lincoln giving the Gettysburg Address in a clown suit would still be the greatest speech in American history.

Be professional, hustle and give it your all, and they should notice that, instead of your outfit.

It was Stan's legs...and we've all seen pictures of Jax's legs...he usually posts these pix after a fastball has turned them into the color of your new jacket.

BTW...we're laughing with ya...not at ya.

I am so confused

don't be...its just that most of us have stories about the smitty world we all started out in................someday you'll look back at that green jacket with humor...

In my neck of the woods leagues adopt the school colors. So it your school colors are maroon/white you would find that official league gear is maroon/white. Having a green jacket just might be "normal" if it was the league's colors.
