Sound like when you ejected the coach, he told the fans something not true and they believe the coach/maanger, So glad to see many TD do something.

I knew where the umpires stood once when a LL Board member told me in a meeting, "Bob, your problem is that you think umpires are special".  My response was, " And my problem is that you think that's a problem".

Sounds normal.

 

More and more leagues are becoming anti-umpire.

They are run by non-baseball people and the umpire costs are sticking in their craw.

 

These people have no spine and really do not understand the game OR their precious little boy was called out on a base OR on a third strike and it was the umps fault.

 

They are unable to manage the finances in the league and may be embezzling some money, yes I said that, and they are upset paying the umpires the fees we charge.

 

If a Smitty umpire mill association with all 16 year old umpires puts in a bid and that is $1 cheaper per game they now have the contract.

The league does not ask about the number of years of experience the umpires have OR the amount of training these guys get OR what is the retention rate- they are simply cheaper.

 

It’s really a sad situation for all.
