Perfect Game Tournament

Headed to Ft Myers on the 24th to Umpire at the 2013 18U WWBA East Memorial Day Classic for Perfect Game. Cool Stuff!

Had 2 games today at the Perfect Game tournament. Best ba I have seen a year. I was on my game. Felt great. Don't think I missed a pitch.

Actually my second plate wasn't so good. Just didn't feel right. But came back in my 3rd plate with an outstanding performance!

Ended up with 9 games. 5 Behind the plate.

 

I felt I was ON all weekend behind the plate. 

Kicked a call on 2nd base during a game where I had the bases.

 

I did have one game where 1 pitcher was pounding the zone. Strikes all day. The other pitcher was just outside of that. Ball all day! The HC accused me of having 2 different strikes zones.

He was on the 3rd base coaches box and at one point told me to go back to Miami cause that's where I belonged. It struck me funny and I started laughing.

Turns out the team that was on the 3rd base dugout was all from Miami. So the coach almost started a riot! Parents and coaches were furious.

 

Park management intervened before I had a chance to toss. This was game number 4 for the team and were already 0-3.

 

Overall the tournament was great. My game evaluations were great. They said I will definitely be invited for more Perfect Game Tournaments.

We just had a mandatory clinic this lat weekend. 1 MLB ump (Dan Iasognia) , 2 triple A guys, 4 2aa guys and several div 1 umpires teaching. Best clinic I have ever attended. Classroom Friday, 2-man sat, 3-man Sunday.

I'm sure it is great ball, My son was in 2 PG showcases in his recruiting days.......great players...

At my age it is probably the highest level I will get to work but I'm ok with that.

I get to work with minor league and Div 1 umpires.
