bryan,

You would get better answers if you wrote coherent questions, but let me give it a try.

Under FED rules, a Courtesy Runner may only be used for the pitcher or catcher.

If a player comes in as a CR for the pitcher in the 4th inning and then later is put in to run for a player who is not the pitcher (say, the 3rd baseman), he has entered the game as a substitute for that player (specifically, a pinch runner) and is no longer eligible to be a CR. If the player he ran for returns to play defense after the half inning is over, the substitute (formerly CR) has exhausted his eligibility to play in the remainder of the game under FED rules as either a courtesy runner or any other "playing" role.

Likewise, if a substitute enters to pinch run for the first baseman and is removed to allow the first baseman to resume playing first base on defense, he has exhausted his eligibility as well.

That about sums it up. I'll also add that if a player enters as a cr, he cannot enter the game in any other capacity in that 1/2 inning. Unless there's injury and no other players are available.

Hard to follow your post, but I will give my answer based on what I think you are asking:

1.  Since you cannot CR for the 3rd baseman, then that is a substitute and he can no longer be a CR in that game.  He may not CR for the pitcher and then sub for the 3rd baseman in the same half inning.

2.  A pinch runner is a substitute and once he is removed, he can not re-enter the game.
