The pitch counts were derived from information collected from Drs but I can't remember which, either peds or ortho. I know the headfirst slide ban was from Peds. They found the problem was really 10s and down but instituted it in all 60ft because the younger guys could play up.

you should look up a paper written by Dr. Jeff Dugas of Andrews Sports Medicine, Birmingham, Al. He coaches and I call quite a few of his games. I've learned alot about baseball injuries (specifically pitching injury) from him. Hell, shoot him an email. He's a great guy.
