I was surfing through MLB.com video library and found this under "interference"

But if you watch it, its clearly obstruction. Even at the highest level of baseball they still get it wrong.

OK, I'll assume you were looking for the sarcasm button, and couldn't find it.

But, for those new guys, 1+1 doesn't apply here, (or anywhere else, for that matter). 1+1 is generally used (incorrectly), in placing the runners on a ball out of play. That's under 7.05g, and there will be either 1 or 2 bases awarded: either from the time of pitch or the time of throw. OK? 1+1 is a myth.

What you saw in the clip is Type A Obstruction: where a play is being made on the runner. In awarding bases, you will award 1 Base Beyond Last Legally Touched. Since the runner's LLT base was third, you will award him home.

On the first colission, (which is nothing) he comes up with a big "That's nothing"; then instantly makes the OBS-A call as soon as he sees Loretta hook onto Cabrera's legs w/his feet. To me, this is a text-book example of how to call this play. Nice work.
