Bob Shepphard is still announcing Derek Jeter as he walks to the plate. I think that's fantastic.

Because he died in 2010!! The guy had a great elegance about him as he announced players.

Shows how little I care about Yankees. Are you saying they have a recording of a dead guy announcing Jeter. That's just weird!

Yup, Jeter does it out of respect for the guy and his family. Google Bob Shepard, great ambassador of the game.
