Ejection Report

If you eject an assistant coach, how do you guys identify him for the ejection report? He doesn't have a number like a player, and I only get the names of the head coaches at the plate meeting.

Haven't had it happen but I imagine you would get the name from the head coach. If he won't give it to you or is otherwise uncooperative, he's writing his own EJ report.

Try asking the coach his name? He might have that info. If he doesn't be sure to include that particular piece of info in your report. In a worst case scenario I find the other teams coaches to be a trove of useful information.

I always ID the Asst Coach by something in the report. "He was the third base coach during the 4th inning." "He had an ugly scar on his face, he had a tattoo of a horses butt on his arm.. That kind of thing. If it's like the league I am a member of, everyone will know about the ejection in about 20 minutes.

Like Danny says, if he was coaching a base, say which base. If he was in the dugout, just say "an assistant coach" - you don't need to supply the name. Not your problem.
