Work with a guy last night that I hadn't worked with before. He was PU.

When he called balls and strikes sometimes he would say "2balls, 1 Strike" then sometimes he would do it backwards. He would say something like "1 strike, 3 balls"

He would use the correct hands but say it backwards.

I went to him between innings and asked him why he was doing that. He told me he wasn't doing it.

I said yes he was and he was incredulous. Insisting he was doing right.

So this guy had no clue he kept changing from batter to batter how he called it.

Other than that he had a great strike zone. Moved well. But it kept driving me crazy.

Wish I had a recorder with me.

Obviously the guy had issues, but . . .

I wouldn't bring it up between innings; save that for post-game.

For me personally, there's only a couple of issues/events that will bring me in to the PU between innings - this ain't one of 'em.

I wouldn't talk about it during the game. If he was calling a good game (like you mentioned in your post) leave him be. It can get him thinking about it and concentrating less on the task at hand. Save that talk for the dressing room.
