The 2012 Mid-American Umpire Clinic, a Wendelstedt Umpire School Affiliated Clinic, will be held September 7-9 in Springfield, Missouri at the Oasis Convention Center, Drury University's baseball field, and some local high school fields.

Cost for the clinic is $150.00, which includes an in depth clinic manual, clinic shirt, written evaluation, graduation certificate, breakfast each morning, and at least 1 complementary drink from the hotel restaurant (Fire & Ice)...and possibly some other goodies not mentioned. U-E Premium Members receive $25 off the tuition cost.

We are currently working on a new website layout for 2012 and hope to launch it later this month, but we are offering a few things not currently listed on our website. For the first time we will be holding two optional sessions for those who would like to come in early. The first will be a "meet/greet/get to know each other" event Thursday Sept. 6 from 7-10 PM at the Oasis Convention Center. This will be an informal session where umpires and instructors can get to know each other, ask questions, and enjoy some snacks and drinks courtesy of the clinic. There will be no agenda for this session, we will just let everyone dictate the direction it goes. The second will be an optional clinic session Friday from 9 AM - 4 PM. This will cover an extensive look at the 2-umpire system where we will break down and help you better understand the philosophies behind why you should take certain plays in certain positions. There is no additional cost for these optional sessions.

Flights into Springfield can be expensive. Also check flying into Branson (BKG). Frontier, Air Tran (soon to be Southwest), and some other regional crop duster fly into there. We can have someone pick you up.

Been to many a clinic in my career and this is THE BEST amatuer 2 man clinic out there. Every year, I see guys that have gone and are exponentially better.
