After reading about all of us who are wanting to lose some weight, I thought I'd throw this out to give us a little motivation, support, and goal for better health. I came up with a progression of how we shed pounds and ranking based on the % of our loss goal we are at a given week. The idea is for each of us to post our current weight>weekly weigh in weight>goal weight. Then based on the % of your loss goal you'll receive a ranking and each time you increase your % loss you'll go up in classification. It looks something like this

0 - 10% of loss goal = Pony League

11 - 20% of loss goal = Bronco League

21 - 30% of loss goal = NFHS

31 - 40% of loss goal = NCAA

41 - 50% of loss goal = Short A

51 - 60% of loss goal = Rookie League

61 - 70% of loss goal = A

71 - 80% of loss goal = AA

81 - 90% of loss goal = AAA

91 - 99% of loss goal = MLB

100% of loss goal = Crew Chief

If enough guys are interested in posting and keeping track I'll pull all the weekly stats together and we can see who's winning the battle, encourage each other and inspire us all to be in better shape mentally and physically.

Posting weight:

I weighed at the gym this afternoon

220>220>180 (starting weight>current weight>goal weight)

I started my weight loss journey on September 6, 2011. At the time, my weight was the highest it had ever been. I worked a high level state championship game the month before, I felt slow, tired (exhausted) and I hated how I looked in photos. I never ever again want to been known as 'the big umpire' as I want to be known as the consistant or fair or hustling umpire.

At that time I weighed 288 lbs. I started weight watchers and have lost 22.5% of my starting weight, weighing in at 222 lbs. as of today. I stil would like to shed 20 more lbs...but hit my first three goals....10% 15% and 20%....25% is just around the corner, hoping to get there by July or August (or maybe sooner).

Good place to go for fitness stuff for officials is Officiallyfit.net. Great site for fitness. Ran by a MiLB umpire who is a personal trainer. Has some good videos on youtube as well. He also does a 6 week challenge for officials with daily workouts. It really is good stuff.

I checked out the officially fit site, very poor product, a video oa a guy officiating and working out, no information, graphic about a challenge but no links, and a sign up for a newsletter. I don't know how you can say it's good stuff unless it's your site. It would be nice to have some fitness specific for officiating, this site isn't there yet.

Sorry, about your trouble with the Officially Fit site. We are going through a transition with our homepage but you will find plenty of great blog articles on officiallyfit.blogspot.com like rodatc had mentioned, plus we have recently released the Officially Fit Team. It is an online and mobile fitness training site specifically for sports officials. The membership is just $6.99, less than you would spend on a pair of dumbbells, with sport specific workout programs that can be done from any desired location with or without equipment depending on how you set up your profile. Many people are using the platform already and we have gotten great feedback. Hope you will take a moment and check it out at team.officiallyfit.net
