This is a different situation, but still continues along the lines of problematic spectators. I had a story relayed to me yesterday about how a player tried to make a double play. As F5 or F6 jumped over second, he slapped the runner's helmet with his glove. The contact was considered to be accidental by the umpire. A spectator was over by the fence later looking at the player and hitting his fist into his palm, and making remarks about how if that player wanted to slap somebody in the head then he was going to slap him.

My response was that if I had that happen to me I would stop the game, approach the home team's head coach, and tell him I wanted the police at the field immediately. Imo, the police should be the ones escorting that person off the property.

Like I said, this was a story I heard, so I don't know how true it is. Even if it's false, it never hurts think about how something like that should be handled. What are your thoughts on this?
