Tampa Bay vs. Toronto

Home plate umpire (#1) takes a direct shot to the mask rattleing his cage and damaging his mask resulting in him being removed.

Home plate umpire (#2) takes a direct foul tip to the chest. He goes down like a dropped sack of potatos resulting in his removal.

Did they ever get to two-man? I thought I heard that they had and then I think I heard that the 2nd PU went to third after being hurt:shrug:.

And we umpires wonder why TV announcers can't get this right.

BTW, they never got to 2-man. After Jerry Crawford left the game, Tom Hallion took over at the dish. When Hallion went down, he gave up the dish to Brian O'Nora, and Hallion went to third base.

Tough night is right. Heck, it's been a tough WEEK for the big guys.

So Hallion started on 2nd in 4-man, went to the plate in 3-man and ended the game at 3rd? Wierd.

Yeah, that's gonna hose up their rotation real good. And likely Crawford will be out for a rest, so they'll have a AAA call-up added to the mix. :home:

What I'm trying to figure out is what type of CP was he wearing? From this picture I can't tell but it appears to be a hard shell. I don't think it's the platinum. Maybe the Wilson Charcoal ? Or maybe even the Riddell Power? But it does seem to be the same that O'Nora wears

Any thoughts on which CP this is?

I was hit in the CP by a pitch 2 weeks ago by a low-mid 80's fastball (By no means a Kazmir pitch) with my Gold and it stunned me but did not hurt.

It has indeed. Tim Welke got hit in the mask on Monday, stayed in for a couple innings, then came out.

On the same crew the next day, Welke was not working. Chad Fairchild had the dish and got drilled in the arm. His arm swelled up the rest of the game and the next game, he had a sleeve on his arm.

Tough job...:question1:
