Thoughts? Was this "conference" pulled together 'properly' ?

They can conference on their own but generally it initiated by the calling umpire. I think here Nelson thought he had information but all he did was get the call wrong and cut a new guy's confidence out frm under him.

If a home plate umpire did that to me at any level I would be pissed. For gods sake let me ask for help when I need it. He may have asked for help anyways if the plate umpire would of let him...

That is way to close for the home plate umpire to know for sure there was no tag. On the replay, I lean on the side of there was a slight tag to the cleat and baseumpire got it right.

I couldn't tell either way whether it was correct or not. UEFL says it was not. I have to believe Nelson had a great view on this so probably no tag.

The conference on the other hand should never have happened that way. Nelson threw Estabrook under the bus. If you watch the replay, about the time the play is happening at 1B, you can see Nelson in the bottom corner of the screen coming up the line. It appears he never stops and gets to Estabrook and then calls the others together.
