It's Dennis Eckersley. He hates umpires and has even said it on the air. I know Eck was filling in as a color broadcaster, but he shouldn't be a problem anymore because Jerry Remy, the real color broadcaster, came back last night.

Notice that the play by play broadcaster isn't saying anything. Don Orsillo probably wished they were on commersial break. Eck has no clue what he is talking about and Orsillo wanted to stay out. He knew he couldn't real Eck back in because Eck was too far off course. :banghead:

Maybe it's too much to ask, but can broadcasters (yes I'm talking to you He-who-shall-not-be-named) someday speak the truth? I know the answer to that, but maybe one day....

I wish MLB had the power to sanction Eckersly? Because coaches would pay a fine for such a statement.

Eckersly is now at the top of my list of worse announcers. The pitch was a ball their own little K zone showed it was. This was one of the worse comments made by a commentator I've heard. I'm surprised he didn't go down the road of well Johnson is only a AAA umpire....

I was watching the game live and just waiting (and cringing) that Eck wouldn't go there....glad he didn't (I have a feeling NESN was yelling at him through his head phones to naugh it off and telling him he was dead wrong). Johnson did have a tight stike zone, but it was constitent each way.

I hate all the K-zone related gadgets. They don't give an accurate zone at all...

And that is all anyone can ask from any of us

I agree but would submit one exception to that though--- Vin Scully:clap:

Here's a thought.... It's the World Series.. Let's name the 6 man announcer/umpiring crew and name a crew chief..

Hmmmmmm , crew chief? My vote would be Eckersly or He-who-shall-not-be-named

I heard the when someone missed a bunt and it hit his hands and the guy said" even though he offered at it, it still hit his hands because his hands are part of the bat he should get first." Huh? It didn't even make sense.
