  1. So I apologize for yet another CP advice thread but I am starting to wonder if anything out there that will fit me well so I would appreciate some help with this one. First, I am a tall slim cut guy. I currently wear a Wilson Gold and as you can imagine, my bottom ribs are not quite covered and since I am so slim, the Gold looks even more bulky and out-of-proportion on me as it does on most people. Therefore, I need something that covers my bottom rib, isn't so bulky and hot, but something that still affords me enough protection to go behind the plate in a varsity high school level. So in my search to find a replacement, I have a friend who has a 15 inch Douglas that I test drove for a while. While it is certainly a quality protector, the middle plate on the Douglas stuck out so far that it just made me look weird (again due to my slender frame). I started to miss the conforming nature of the Gold after noticing this. In fact, I couldn't even cradle my mask under my arm and against my body in between innings because the middle plate stuck out past my body so far. The middle plate was so wide and non-conforming to my frame that I decided that this was not what I was looking for, so the search continues. I have begun looking into the SchuttXV and thinking about contacting @MadMax for advice on how to rig a flex style harness on that rig. I have been reading that the Schutt is not as bulky and hot as the gold and I really like the advanced foams instead of sofa cushion foam. However, I saw a few pics where Max modeled this rig and it seemed like the "wings" (for lack of a better term) on the side under the shoulders stuck out and didn't really conform (maybe this isn't the case and it was just that one pic). I would really appreciate any advice and opinions on what seems like a never-ending chest protector search. Thanks!
  2. Sold. Lock it up @Thunderheads
  3. Price Reduced
  4. I actually really like matte black masks but I hadn't ever had a low profile before and just couldn't quite get used to it. Your creation was beautiful though lol.
  5. Yes it is. It's that same mask that I bought from you. I couldn't get my pictures to upload so I "borrowed" your picture of the mask
  6. I'm having trouble getting other pics to upload so if you want more pics, PM me and I'll be happy to text or email you as many as you would like. Selling the frame only and it is in excellent shape. Asking $100 shipped.
  7. Of the masks you mentioned, I'll give my two cents on the Aluminum Dyna Lite. Light as a feather, comfortable, good vision and built like a tank. One drawback is the fact that aluminum is a bit like titanium (rigid and doesn't flex with a hit as much as steel). Other than that, I love it.
  8. I thought Honigs quit making these. If they are still making them, how did you order one?
  9. I also had a great transaction with him back in August. Surprises me a bit since he was very responsive and very quick to ship. Actually had my item before I expected it. Have you heard anything yet @tpatience
  10. What chest protector are you using if you're not using the Riddell
  11. @Richvee, Just curious..... Since they have your prescription in them, do you wear the prizm's both during the day and at night or on low light cloudy days? Just wondering if the prizms are versatile enough to be worn both during the day and at night/low light.
  12. I really like the looks of these but I would think that the white on the bottom would get to looking pretty dirty pretty fast..... thoughts?
  13. Hey all, was looking around on Rakuten and I really want to pull the trigger on an order but I have some reservations. I found some other threads where members had positive things to say but I want to know if anyone has ever had a bad experience. Some things that concern me are: - bank account or credit card being flagged due to a purchase in Japanese Yen - receiving wrong item and not being able to return it or having to pay shipping back to Japan - shipping time... how long does shipping take - general anxiety about buying from a foreign website and having my info stolen or scammed thanks for your help and expertise
  14. From my understanding, the 129 is the 122 except that the 129 has an integrated throat guard. Sort of like what Jeff Nelson wears.
  15. Do you also have a 2qa-129? Thought I saw an older post where you mentioned that
  16. Tried to reach you on pm but your inbox is full so I hope that this public meassage doesn't creep you out. I read in a post a while back that you had a mizuno 2qa-129. Do you still have it and would you still be willing to sell it for the right price? If so what condition is it in? Thanks Again

  17. Not yet. Severe Thunderstorms yes. That is something I hope I never have to do
  18. Out in the rural western third of the state.
  19. Found one via PM.
  20. Has anyone ever ordered from this seller on Ebay? is it legit or is it a scam? I've always liked the Mizuno masks and am trying to find one. Also, the flip side of the coin is I would like to see if anyone here has a Mizuno mask they would be willing to part with for the right price. Let me know if you have one and would be willing to make some money from it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mizuno-PRO-Japan-Baseball-Umpire-Catchar-Mask-with-Throat-Guard-2QA129-Black-/222292626522?hash=item33c1ac4c5a:g:CYQAAOSwOVpXWRZz Thanks
  21. All, I have been browsing this site for about two years now and I finally decided to register a profile. I first began umpiring for some local youth leagues when I was 14 years old and seven years later, here I am. After progressing through the umpire ranks in youth leagues, I became fascinated by the intricacies of the rulebook and I have a thirst to learn more each day. I have found that when I watch baseball games on TV, I watch the umpires just as much, if not more than I watch the players and the action. The year after I graduated High School, I decided to make the jump into umpiring high school ball and I fell in love with it. I was fortunate enough to befriend an experienced veteran who once umpired in triple-A. He had the dream of making it to the MLB but some health problems derailed his career. After being away from the game for several years, he then decided to get back into doing some high school ball, which is where I met him. I was fortunate enough to work with him for a season before he retired for good. I have learned so much from this site and I continue to learn from it each time I visit. I have asked guest questions (some of them were rather stupid as I think back on them) but nevertheless, experienced umpires always answered with professionalism. I hope to continue learning from this amazing site.
