I just got my New NB plate shoes and boy oh boy do they feel light and comfortable. I can't wait to try them on in a game!!
-
Not very hard but when all of the shoe full leather, in theory it's much easier to keep clean. Instead of material that soaks up dirt.

Just bought these, I hope they don't suck!! read reviews on Amazon and Ump attire and mostly were good, I didn't see any reviews on here. It was between these and the New NB shoes. But decided to go with these because I do a majority of the games on all dirt infield and it appears the clean up is much better. https://www.ump-attire.com/Baseball-Umpire-Equipment/Gear-Footwear/Base-Plate-Shoes/7335_3N2-Reaction-Field-Umpire-Referee-Shoes?id=60

Hey everyone, I have the NB plate shoe. I've had them for 2 years, very comfortable, but I have one issue. The Protective tongue is loose. I'm trying to figure out a way to completely secure them again like when I first bought them. Any ideas? I'd hate to have to buy new shoes because of cosmetics for the new HS season. http://smile.amazon.com/New-Balance-Baseball-Umpire-Behind/dp/B006DW8LJQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1445899192&sr=8-1&keywords=umpire+shoes

Good job brother, it's hard to lose weight but 10x harder to keep it off. Every year I lose about 20-30 to start off the year and by December I'm close to my original weight. So far this year however, I have been keeping it off. Minimal fast food, minimal soda, minimal beer, and try to practice portion control. I say minimal because It's almost impossible to stay 100% away from this things. Do you have a copy of that diet?

he actually said that out loud?

Best effin quote I've heard in a while!!! I love it -
I have the original navy short and long sleeve, powder blue long and short, white, grey. These I use for scrimmage or single man mechanics because I hardly use them. I also have the old black, and old MLB blue w black collar, cream. I compare our equipment to an auto mechanic's tool box. Unless you have tons of cash, you can't go out and buy everything at once. I try to buy or upgrade at least every 6 months. I just bought some poly/wool base pants and I'm looking forward to buying shirts in a few months. I also want to buy new shin guards as they are the original set I bought when I started umpiring 2 years ago.

bahahah love it!!!

I heard a rumor yesterday from a very good Umpire at a local tournament that the MLB umpires are going back to Navy blue and the plain back majestic black shirt next year? Usually I pay no mind but this umpire is very knowledgeable and probably the the most informed I've ever known. Anybody else hear that?

Thanks everybody for your input. I'm definitely not going the cheap route on this after all . I thought I've learned my lesson when buying cheap, I sometimes pay twice as much because I have to buy again. You get what you pay for. That being said I'm going with the Smitty's poly/wool because, I have always been a fan of all of their stuff. Honig's not so much. Thanks all going with the one's below. I wish they had expanded waist but ...,. http://www.purchaseofficials.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?search=action&category=1102

I agree, perhaps I might just wait and buy both. But that means paying for 2 pants instead of one. I personally, love the Smitty's too!!
-
Anybody buy these ? I Usually buy the Smitty's but there's a 10 dollar difference and was wondering what you guys think. http://www.purchaseofficials.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?search=action&category=1101

My mistake, I misinterpreted the rule. The ball is live in this situation because it hit the batter clearly after it passed F3. Thanks all, a bit confused but I got it. Glad I could ask everybody here for clarification and interpretation.

Question regarding rule 7.08 F . Bases loaded , defense playing up. R1 is hit with line drive but because he is behind F3 I apply rule 7.08f. My question is,did I make a mistake by calling the play dead? Is the ball dead because it hit the runner or is it live? I can't find it

Mad Max that is the best response have seen in any forum period!!!!!! Golly that was good. I like all the options that are avaiable out there. I will order sometime today. Still not sure on whether Shock 2.0 and the mvp 2500. I might just flip a coing hahahaha. Thanks agaoin all!!

Thanks everybody for your input. Thinking about the all star mvp and the wilson shock. Been told by other umpires that the HSM is much much cooler during the summer months than the TM with the hat. I will be doing all my games in the Inland Empire in southern california this year. Much hotter than I'm used to.
-
Thanks everybody for your opinions. I was thinking of getting the wilson shock fx. It get's real hot in the inland empire most of the year. Every umpire I've talked to said that wearing a HSM is soooooo much cooler than a traditional mask. I was just wondering if there was a difference between the two. http://www.amazon.com/Wilson-Baseball-Catchers-Helmet-Large-X-Large/dp/B005Y04LGK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426709119&sr=8-1&keywords=wilson+shock+fx+2.0 http://www.purchaseofficials.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=FM-SHOCK

Any difference between umpire/ catchers masks? I want to get a different mask and find that catcher's mask are less expensive. By looking at the mask I don't find any difference. Any opinions?? I'm new to this community and had started the exact same thread a couple weeks ago but I couldn't find it. Well sure enough , I did find it but only after I reposted this one. My bad

Thanks gentlemen

I've been umpiring for only about 2-3 years. I'm thinking about buying a full bucket mask but I notice that catcher's mask look exactly the same as the umpire's mask. What are your thoughts on any difference?
