This is my first post in this forum. I'm recently returning to umpire after a break of 15 years, and I've just started up again this week.

Anyway, in my game tonight this situation came up: The batter laid down a bunt that rolled up the third base line and came to a stop before being touched by any fielder. About a third of the ball was over the foul line, and the rest was in foul territory. I ruled it fair, thinking of tennis, where if any part of the ball is over any part of the line it's in.

Was I right with this one? Thanks!

You nailed it! Any part of the ball touching the line when it settles or is touched makes it a point into fair territory. Your job is done!

PS - Welcome to the Empire. You'll enjoy the place lots of good input from lots of quality guys, and a great place to study the nuances of the job we all know and love.
