Had an awesome day today. Juco D2 doubleheader, game one goes into 7th tied 1-1. VT goes 3 up, 3 down. HT leads off with single, followed by another single, then a walk to load 'em up. Then the bomb drops, walkoff grandslam!

Game 2, we go into 7th VT up 5-2. VT goes 3 up, 3 down again. HT gets 3 singles to load bases, pop up for out 1, then a triple to tie it at 5. They bring in a pinch hitter and on the 2nd pitch he hits a shot down the 3rd base line for the walkoff single!

Both games went smooth and quite (at least inside the fence), only time i heard from a coach was on a play at 2nd during game 1. R1, ball hit to F4, who instead of flipping to F6 for the out tries to beat R1 and doesn't, I call him safe and then for some unknown reason he steps off the bag and is tagged out. VHC comes out and asks me what I got, so i tell him what happened, he just shook his head and walked back to the box.

I'm pretty sure this is the only time i've had both games of a DH end in walkoffs!!

Nice job!

I had a unique experience at a JUCO DH today.

I'm the PU and Visitor 4 hole hits a shot. Score is now 6-2 H.

Team on bench comes out toward the plate to greet the BR. But as many of you know NCAA says that's a no-no now so I put up the stop sign. V manager goes nuts. "Nobody's enforced that all year, It's a bush league rule, this is baseball, they are supposed to have fun."

Pitching change happens, and he's still chirping about it at me. I finally told him, "Look, that's the rule, and I'm enforcing it." Then out of the stands some guy yells a the V HC: "WILL YOU GET IN YOUR BOX AND SHUT UP AND LET THE UMP DO HIS JOB?"

After 30 years of umpiring, for the first time a fan took my side in an argument and yelled at a coach!

I'm still trying to wrap my head around that one.

I had a catcher tell his fans to shut up. I was on the bases and the fans were starting to ride the PU on his zone. The catcher stood up and told his fans to shutup, he was calling a good game. The PU said it wasn't bothering him. The kid while true, it was driving him nuts.
