Is backswing of follow-through interference the same as batter's interference under Little League Rules?  I can't find any reference to backswing or follow-through interference except in reference to an uncaught third strike.  Is it just covered under "offensive" interference and simply becomes a dead ball?  Aany help greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It's covered under rule 6.06(c). You need to read the instructor comments in the RIM, (the LL Rules Instruction Manual). Treat back-swing interference same as in OBR, (Official Baseball Rules, aka MLB rules).

The instructor comments in the RIM are as follows:

"If a batter strikes at a ball and misses and swings so hard he/she carries the bat all the way around and, in the umpires judgement, unintentionally hits the catcher or the ball in back of him/her on his/her follow-through before the catcher has securely held the ball, it shall be called a strike only (not interference). The ball will be dead, however, and no runner shall advance on the play."

If the catcher is trying to retire a runner that is stealing and back-swing interference happens, if the runner is retired, the out stands, strike on the batter. If the runner is not retired, then the runner is merely sent back, strike on the batter. In each case, the batter is not out unless it is strike 3.

Hope that helps.
