First one of 2016

Semi-final game of a 17U tournament.  Batter is crowding the plate so much that he barely fits the definition of being inside the box at TOP.  His toes are right on the outer chalk.  Pitch comes in right at the top of the zone over the inner half of the plate.  It is not even on the black it's on the white.  Batter turns slightly and gets hit in the elbow.  He drops the bat and starts to go to first.  I immediately yell "Time.  Ball was in the strike zone when batter was hit.  That is strike three batter is out".  First base coach starts coming down the line asking how I could make that call.  Batter is just standing there.  I explain that I clearly saw the ball over the plate when it hit him and it was in the zone.  All of a sudden I hear some phrase, I wasn't really paying attention, with an emphatic f-word in it I turn to look at the batter who is looking right at me and says something along the lines of "that's F*#King ridiculous".  Second f-bomb in 10 seconds, gets a "you're gone.  Coach 21 is ejected".

Coach then comes up to me and says "I only have 9 players can't you give him a warning".  I then tell the coach what the players said.  To his credit he said "Okay, never mind we are playing with 8".

Too bad it was not a league that requires playing with 9...
