It seems that weird stuff always happens on the ball field when there is a full moon, and since that wasn't the case this weekend, I could only laugh at some of it.

Working 13U in Triple Crown, I'm in C. Ball hit in the air over F1's head, hits 2B, and pops up into the air. F6 catches it, but doesn't throw to 1B. Coach yells "Why didn't you throw the ball!!??" SS says "I caught it before it hit the ground - it's an out!" :shakehead:

14U TC. Bases loaded, ground ball hit to F4, and he throws home for the force. Catcher drops the ball, PU calls runner safe and DC goes ballistic, and comes yelling and complaining to PU wanting the out. (I'm really confused) PU gives explanation that F2 dropped the ball and he can't get the out without the ball in his glove, even if his foot was on the plate. The coach wants PU to ask for my help (SERIOUSLY?) saying there is no way he could see a dropped ball from the position he was in. Ummm... the ball rolled within 6" of the backstop - how could anyone NOT see that?

14U TC. I'm PU. R2. Long fly ball to CF, catch is made and runner takes off (leaves a step too early and I see it immediately). Partner calls the out, R2 now at 3rd. DC yells to player "Go to 2nd - throw the ball to 2nd - he left early!!" BU calls the runner out and parents go crazy! Coach is losing his mind yelling "That's horrible - there's no way you can see that - ask her for help - ask her for help!" Partner explains he has catch and tag, coach still yelling "Ask for help!" BU looks at me and I know he doesn't want to walk over to me and we both know it's his call anyway. I signal out as well and OC yells "OMG - you're no better than he is! You're both crazy! If you're getting paid to work this game, at least WATCH what's going on!" At that point, BU dumps OC. :wave:

That 13u F6 has a future in politics! A full moon would explain why I had absolutely no chirping this weekend. 8 tournament games and not one snippy coach or parent, that's unheard of!
