I have to agree with @MooseLoop

Matt, why are you so committed to letting this dirtbag batter have the base? No one except a F*#Kin RAT thinks the little turd eater deserves a base for doing this.

Why can't you just accept any of the twisted logic and ring the weasel up?

I'm not clinging to anything. What I said to him has nothing to do with the OP. If he wants to be stupid and think that a batter can swing without using his bat, that's on him, but to put it out here, that's just irresponsible.

Wow.

This is like interference of a runner on a foul ball that has a chance to become fair (you are going to bitch that it isn't at all alike but whatever.)

I am sure before this was added there were rats who taught for runners to kick the ball while it was still foul to prevent a play then argue that, "There can't be interference on a foul ball".

If there is ANY chance in Our judgment the pitch could be a strike (and like a pitch with the batter out of the box you take your biggest zone), then it is an out. Just like if there was any chance the ball could be fair. The benefit of the doubt goes to the defense because they weren't the ones who messed up. If the ball is nowhere near even in the postal code of the strike zone, dead ball ball four. Because the defense were the ones at fault.

95% of the people on this site interprets like this.

Do you want to know the big difference? I've had both situations, and one does have an official interpretation.

What it all boils down to is that in a particular situation, there is a right call, and the rest aren't. I put this out here so that the right call for this could be discussed and determined.
