Rule 7.13 Changed already

Umpires are now being instructed to not enforce rule 7.13 on force plays at home.  The first step in officially tweaking this rule to actual enforce it for safety, and not when there is no point hopefully!

Really, how many MLBers were trucking catchers on force plays?  I would say it was pretty close to zero.

No one has trucked a catcher on a force play, ..>BUT ............

 

Cincy, Pittsburgh last week ............ they called a 7.13 violation on Russell Martin on a force at home!
