All I will tell you is this, and take it as you will. If you were to eject a pitcher for control issues in any league I've been involved in, from LL to college games, you'd have your schedule pulled by the assignor. There is little tolerance in this area for officials making things up on their own, and hiding behind "safety" as their justification. The rules makers at the youth levels have put specific rules in place to cover what they consider to be safety rules for THEIR league. Please remember that it's not your league, and they're not your rules. You're there to adjudicate the rules of the game as they're written. If they wanted umpires to have the ability to toss pitchers who are having control issues, they would have written something into the rules specific to that situation.Tim.

I am about sick of this place already you people are not listen its right in the rules. do you even read what i say? you know what screw good bye.my friend, again, I beg to differ with you. But that's ok. We are big boys and don't always have to agree. I feel that I have a firm grip on the rules and proper interpretations. And when I do have a question, Mr. Pete Peterson, Sr. is the rules interpreter for our High School baseball association. When I disagree with him, I stick my nose in the book and figure out why I'm wrong.

I said all that to say this....when there are so many opinions that concur with each other (especially given the knowledge of the posters on this forum) and there is one stand alone that disagrees with them ALL, chances are that the stand alone is missing something.

I recommend you consult your UIC and ask them what the proper interp is. Bet ya a dollar to a donut he agrees with the majority here.

Reminds me of a joke:

Wife calls her husband as he's driving home from work to warn him that there's someone driving the wrong way on the interstate, according to the local news. His reply, "One??? There's a whole SH*#pot full of em!"

I don't care if you don't agree but your not seeing my view and you people are saying things that were needed to be said in first place .I never brought youth rec ball up for a reason. they are learning you have to adjust the rules to the level of the age.

That the whole point of rec ball. Secondly i apgolizes for the immature replay post i am furstarted when people are not seeing my view and have no clue i have already spoke to my uic on these issues before and more than once.

He would never take a picture out over safety in else he needed to.  I had a coach in rec/babe ruth baseball come to me and ask if he should take his pitcher out. or the other team i was like it was there call.  But my uic said if he had he would surley used the safety rule he wouldn't eject the player.

whole different ball of yarn. I have asked a coach to remove a pitcher before. There were no rules to support my request. And I couldn't require him to. Whole different situation.

So your UIC advocates making up your own rules, and declaring a pitcher a safety hazard, and requiring him to be removed from the mound ?

............. you have to adjust the rules to the level of the age.

Umpires DO NOT adjust the rules of the game at any level. We enforce the rules, and it's really that simple. When umpires start to make stuff up things go downhill quickly. What's next, a must slide rule? All for the sake of the kiddies safety......

There are people who have taken ownership of the rules for their leagues, and while they may consult umpires at times when they want to change something, they make the rules..........not us!
