Call up

Last night, Major (LL) 11-12 game.  VT has a call up player (10y/o) for 2nd game in a row. 

 

Two days prior, this kid was sent to RF ('nuff said?) on defense.  His turn at bat, drew a walk, and tried to steal 2nd on the next pitch.  Oblivious to the fact that his walk loaded the bases, and the other two runners weren't moving.  Needless to say, they got the out w/him coming back to 1st.  When he came up the next time, I heard some parental coaching going on from behind the dugout.  "Bobby, can you pull your head out of your @$$ this time?"  Kid strokes a single ad ends up scoring 2 batters later.

 

 

Last night, I'm a little nervous when they put him in at 2B in the bottom of 3rd.  Anyway, we get two outs and the HT slugger comes up. Now this kid hit a frozen rope right at 2Bs head.  Everything then goes into slow motion.  2B raises his glove and catches the ball as if it were routine for him. AWESOME move for this kid. He then starts walking to the dugout all casual, pulls the ball out and flips it toward the mound.  From the VT stands (I'm assuming it was dad) you hear "HEY COACH! LOOK AT WHAT I FOUND!!  Does this make up for my stolen base attempt?"
