Where are the heroes. Where have they gone. Maybe they were never there to start with. Where are the coaches who want to be role models. Or maybe they are teaching the kids how to be role models, and this is how you do it, to get ahead in life and be a respectable citizen and the role model that everyone wants.

Pitiful.  There are probably nuggets of truth in each coach's statements, but no one should be defending his team for getting into a bench clearing fight.  Both coaches should be suspended for a long time.
