I have now ejected(well the kid ejected himself) my first High School Player(Never have ejected a coach). Here is how it happened.

Bottom of 6th inning. BR for HT hits a ball to SS. SS's throw to 1st pulls 1B off the bag. As BR approaches 1st base, 1B lowers his shoulder and takes out BR. There was no appeal or conversation about the play from the Head Coach of VT.

Pretty easy call to make. Can't understand why 1B did it. At the time his team is up 7-6. They go on to lose 9-7.

I'm having trouble picturing this. Did the throw pull F3 into the path of the BR and the F3 dropped his shoulder to intentionally take out the BR?

Ball pulled the 1B off the bag more like a diagonal toward dugout and home plate. He then took a step forward to make the tag, dropped his shoulder and leveled the kid. On top of that it looked even worse because 1B was about 150lbs heavier than BR.

Why the out call?  Isn't FED an auto safe here?  I need to spend more time in the FED book, I don't do nearly as much as I used to, but FED is my kryptonite.

Fed book says you need to make the safe/out call as if the MC didn't happen.  And award bases according to where you think other runners would have made it to. 3-3-1N Penalty I believe.
