Congrats to the Blues for finally winning a playoff series for the first time in 10 years! Fun game to watch. Love those empty net goals!

Bah!!!

Spoken like a displaced Sharks fan.

Looked like Ryan sure did go to me. Too close to ruin a perfect game over. He looked like he offered and couldn't check it in my opinion. On a play like that, you don't want to be "that umpire." Just ask Jim Joyce. Cryin' Ryan and the Mariners can just get over it. Ryan arguing the call shows a total lack of class and professional courtesy.

I would have liked to see an appeal. PU was awfully quick in his judgement...

Umpires are trained to get their own calls right, before they resort to asking for help. It is weak for a PU to always ask for help on check swings. I asked for help twice in a game many years ago, and both times they were called swings by the BU. I was evaluated down for it by a long-time senior instructor (who was coaching the HS team at the time) and told, "you gotta get those yourself." This one was no exception.
