What took so long, ....and who "didn't" see it, ...aside from PU

I'm wondering why did the conversation take so long. And, why was there one in the first place. If any umpire saw it hit him, then they should have called it immediately. At least, that is what I do with my partners. If they see it, call it. If they don't, we're not talking about it if questioned. All I tell a coach is "He told me everything he had on the play by not calling 'Foul'." They stop when I tell them that.

I can see why PU didn't see it. It happens quickly and after the bounce. Plus, F2 is there and he may have gotten a little shielded when it occurred possibly since it was off the ground. I just don't understand why no other umpire called it immediately and why it took so long to discuss. Never will know I guess.

Wow. We have seen this before in MLB. IF an umpire saw the foul, then there may be an understanding to "Stay outta my house".

The other possibility (and this comes direct from my ass), is that NONE of the 4 umpires actually saw it. We have talked before about using ALL the evidence available, not just eyes and ears. So I wonder if the reactions of the Yankee players contributed to this decision.

I don't know why one of the BUs didn't call it if they saw it but the PU had no shot at it. The catcher slid with the ball and completely blocked the umpire out. I will not go to my partner if I feel he is qualified enough to kill it as he is supposed to.
