Hard to tell. I wonder if the swipe tag hit the back of R3's leg. If it did, he is out. If not, safe. For me, it all depends on that swipe attempt by F2. This is one play where I don't think any one angle tells the whole play. Maybe PU saw the swipe touch the trail leg b/c the touch of HP did not come until after the swipe attempt. Tough angle to see this play but Maddon's toss was pathetic. He can't see anything to argue about from the dugout.

oddly enough if you can stop this video at 1:31 ...it sort of looks like Avila gets his heal cleat on the swipe........crazy play

I saw this live and called safe. I then went and super slow mo'd it on my DVR, and I still had safe..

Catcher blocked the plate well, but there wasn't a tag the first time... I can tell because the heel didn't kick up on the swipe and I didn't see any contact.
