Got a 35+ MSBL game tomorrow night. It's the first time I'll be on the field as the youngster.

What's the odds I'll get my first ejection?

Do what you know how to do and manage the game and it will be good. Although I was part of a double ejection the other night in our men's league but they were all college age kids.

Why are you even thinking about a Ejection?

I have never looked ahead at a game wondering if I would get a ejection.

This implies your looking for one and while your on the field may not be as approachable as you should be.

I try to keep them in the game.

I also do not eject anyone, they eject themselves.

It was sarcasm. However, it's not a secret that men's leagues are notorious for bad behavior. While I'm not going it looking for an ejection, I can't go in thinking it'll be a cakewalk.

Haven't run across any bad behavior with either of the 3 Men's Leagues I have worked.

I have only had one EJ at that level in 2 years and that was for Malicious Contact.

It was also the 1st game he ever played in the league and he didn't know that we don't try to take out F4 to break up a double play, especially when there where already two outs. :shakehead:

Sorry for not knowing the rules but most of you need to be protected so you can go to work on Monday.

I did my first Men's league game this summer and it was great. Everyone knows they can turn into sh#tshows but the game I worked was smooth and the guys were extremely classy. They aren't all bad.

I have buddy that play in those leagues and they keep asking me when I'm going to come and umpire there games and I told them when I'm ready. I tell them when I have my skills where I want them that I would come umpire there old butts.

Game went well, ending in 6 innings. The only complaint I heard was the pitcher of the losing team. His catcher and I had the following discussion at the beginning of one of the late innings:

F2: You're doing a great job.

Me: I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, so I'll thank you for the compliment.

F2: No, really. You're one of the best we've had all year.

Me: I still can't tell.

Our organization was hired by the group for the first time this year. Both managers at the beginning of the game mentioned how it was a very smart move by the league to do so, saying the worst umpires this year are far better than the best they've had in the past.
