As they say, you'll never see it all.

Machine Pitch game.

Between innings the field director came by to give me my money and a water and one of the team moms came to bring me some of the foul balls which had been retrieved. We all exchange pleasantries, and the mom wants to keep the conversation going. I politely excuse myself to get the game going again.

As the first batter comes out, so does grandma/great grandma. He goes to the plate she goes to near the machine camera in hand. I politely say, "Ma'am, I cant have you out on the field."

"Oh I just need to get a quick picture."

"Okay, just please make it quick and get back to the bleachers" Trying hard to be as polite as I can to the lady.

"I'm going to stay to get a picture of him hitting the ball. I won't get in the way."

I get the WTF do I do now look and just as I'm about to be the evil guy who asks grandma to get off the field, the mother comes on the field to get the grandma off the field. She's apologizing profusely and very noticeably embarrassed.

It was rather funny.

Later in the same game...

R1. Batter hits the ball to left-center. The 3rd base coach is signalling R1 to round second and come to third. As the kid is coming to 3rd the coach raises his hands and tells the runner to stop. He stopped on a dime 15-20 feet from the base. The coach then coaxes the kid to come to third. just before he gets tagged. The kid then yells. "You told me to stop!" With a stern look on his face.

Everybody was laughing.
