Glossy Polywools

So this week I purchased a Honig's polywool base pant and a Honig's ultimate plate pant. I had them altered and well this morning I had a the bases on a 10 o'clock game, and wanted to iron them with my brand new iron I purchased yesterday. As I was ironing them on the wool setting some water splashed from the container in the iron and I kepted ironing. Once I arrived at the field I noticed that they are shinny, and allong the seam on the right leg it was dark and glossy.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Its just barely noticeable and I doubt anyone cares that much about a slightly darker part of a pant. My partner didnt even notice when I asked him if he saw anything wrong with my pants, he only complimented me saying I looked sharp. But I think I might just purchase another pair along with a plate pair just to cycle them in.

Put a towel between the pants and the iron and use a cooler setting possibly.

Any way to fix or is this permanent damage? I spoke to a few people about this and they said that if they are cleaned a couple times it might help.

When my uncle got married years ago there were some iron "burns" on the hem of his tux pants. The seamstress he took them to used Windex on them and the marks were gone...on white pants no less. I don't know what all she did in the process, but you may ask a seamstress or tux rental place for suggestions. If the poly is melted you may just be SOL, but its worth a shot...

Always use a cloth either a thin washcloth or a handkerchief that keeps that from happening.

Don't know about fixing the burn.

Something to remember when ironing is when you have something like Poly Wool, use the lowest setting for the lower fabric.

Wool setting is to high for Poly.

Poly is a man made plastic material and it MELTS.
