  1. Moe

    Stupid

I just want to say up top that I know I gave this guy too much rope: PU for 18+ men's league, batter gets called out by my partner on a VERY close play at first,The batter slams his helmet to the ground saying "run F*#Ken faster!" I picked up his bat being at the 45 and tell him to calm down, he says "Moe, toss me." I didn't. A few guys on his team said I should have, even my umpire-in-chief who was talking to the convener of the league both told me to toss him. Skip to the bottom of the fourth: he strikes out swinging. Again he wants me to toss him, I don't. He gets to the dugout and smashes his bat against a pole. I finally say "you're done" and eject him. He yells "FINALLY!" I know I gave him a long leash, but I knew that he wanted to be tossed, so I made him stay in the game. If you don't want to play, don't show up, why wait for me to toss you? I don't want to toss someone because they ask me to toss them, but I thought if I gave him enough rope, he would hang himself. Now here is the bigger issue: he is an umpire. He is a friend of mine and I have done many games with him. I really can't fathom a umpire acting that way, especially in front of the convener and the umpire-in-chief. Thoughts
